Discipline (and result......)

Yesterday, all diploma levels were asked to go to the MKJB Hall for a Discipline Talk at 8.30 am to discuss about the discipline problem that are happening in MKJB ( Maktab Kejuteraan Jefri Bolkiah).  
The talk was held by the Discipline Unit. 3 discipline problem was discussed during the talk.

1.Attendance : Cikgu Zarina said that the MKJB 's Students attendance are getting worse day by day ,  with most of the students being absent on saturday. A student must have 85% overall on his/her attendance, Action will be taken ( First notice etc ) if the student's attendance is below 85%.

2. Bullying : The instructors said that bullying is a serious matter in MKJB, some students might find bullying is fun for them but they must know the consequences . Action will be taken to the person who are caught bullying. There are already 2 cases of bullying where the people who are bullied has quit the college. So this matter cannot be taken lightly.

3. Long hair and coming late to class.

As for my results, I got 4 merits, 1 distinction and 2 fails. So mad at myself for failing 2 subjects. For making careless mistakes and for not studying hard enough for phase test 1 ( i guess..) Will be having a resit paper on Electrical Technology next tuesday ( Next week). Ill just have to try a little bit harder for my next phase test then, Insyaallah.

So far so good.

Have yet to start on my assignment on 'Plagiarism' , Probably will start doing it after the exam finishes . Our last paper will be on the 17th November which is Maths.. so yeah probably gonna stay right after the paper. Syukur alhamdulillah, ive managed to pass my Mechanical Science paper and Naval architecture paper.

I was expecting a distinction for my naval, but only managed to get 60%. So disappointed actually, ive studied hard ( Not..) for Naval Arch. Ill be sitting for I.G.T tommorow,  Well.. havent read/revise anything on I.G.T actually, Gonna start my revision on I.G.T at 9-ish tonight, I hope thats enough to cover all the topics for I.G.T. 

"Burning the midnight oil" i must say.

So about 'Plagiarism' , just gonna give a brief explanation about what is 'Plagiarism'. Plagiarism is basically copying another person's work or 'borrowing' a piece of information without crediting the source.

3 easy example of 'Plagiarism' :-

• Claiming someone else work as your own
• Copying so many words and informations on one source
• Failing to put quotation.

I hope i can finish up the assignment on time as the due date for the assignment is 26th November 2012, So worried.

Procrastination

Its been 3 weeks since my last update, Sorry for the lack of update everyone .So many things to do, so little time. So our exam ( for most of the mkjb students) started 2 weeks ago, We already sat for 4 papers for the phase test, since we are sitting for 7 papers for this phase test 1, so basically 4 papers down, 3 papers to go.

Quite worried about my marks though, struggled doing two of the papers, Electrical technology and G.E.K and umm MS. Tommorow's paper is workshop theory, gonna start my revision on workshop theory tonight ( As always last minute revision) procrastinating at its best i may say. Then Industrial Gas Turbine 's paper will be on wednesday and our last paper will be on saturday which is Maths.

Im so thankful because of the 4 days gap between wednesday and saturday , Ill have time to revise my maths and do the exercise given by our maths instructor. Lets just hope that will be enough to help me on my maths , amin.

Phase test 1 !

Phase Test 1 starts on the 3rd of November, 1 week to go D: . We have yet to finish the syllabus for maths and electrical technology for the examination, So worried. Havent start my revision on most of the subject for phase test, Only managed to start my revision on Maths .

Insyaallah, with the revision papers given by most of our instructor, I hope I can ace my phase test 1. HOPEFULLY. Goodluck to all Marine engineering Student for phase test 1 :D With prayers and blessing from our parents, Insyaallah there's no failure. Amin.

Electronic form (IT Application)

Gonna post a short post regarding Electronic Form .Last two weeks, We were asked by Sir Moe to do the exercise on electronic forms from the notes he gave us. Electronic form is a form which you can fill up online and save more time.

The advantage of using electronic form /Reasons why most people choose electronic form rather than written form :-

• Save time and money
• Reduce time to fill out - Clicking is faster than writing, and responses can be changed without erasing so each respondent saves valuable work time
• Eliminate paper and printing costs.
• Eliminate disposal of paper
• Edit and Modify - Online and web-survey forms can be easily modified as changes are needed, or to make data entry more clear to participants.

I have yet to give the soft copy of my electronic form, will give the soft copy to Sir Moe probably after the exams.

Holiday! ( And umm phase test )

Two days holiday for technical schools :D Spending this two days playing games, i have yet to start my revision for phase test 1 D: A bit worried about my maths, We only managed to cover two topics for the phase test 1.. I will probably start my revisions next week , I have this bad habit where i always revise last minute for my exams.( I know , i know you should revise 4 weeks earlier etc)

But insyaallah ill try my best for the phase test 1 , One week revision before the Phase test 1 would be enough kan? Ill just concentrate more on G.E.K, Naval Architecture , Mechanical Science and Maths in my revision as they said those four subject are quite hard. And not to forget Electrical Tech, I suck at calculation .. Nevertheless, ill try not to fail any of the subjects..

1. Networking in twitter

  Easy ways to network on twitter.

 

#1: Show Others What You Want to Talk About

First, remember to show others what you are most interested in. You communicate your areas of interest in several ways:

• Put a picture of who you are with your Twitter bio.
• Shows others what you like to talk about with the content you tweet.
• Share the conversations you are interested in by using hashtags in your tweets.

#2: Retweet Others

  Retweeting is a great way to start networking but you usually need to do a bit more to get a response and start a dialogue .For example, add some personal comments to the retweet. Notice how others engage with people and copy the ones you like.

•  Direct Tweet. Instructors and students can contact each other through direct Tweets without having to share cell phone numbers. This is very useful if you need some help on your assignment or classwork
• Make announcements. Your Student Representative (SR) can send out reminders about upcoming tests, Assignment due dates, or any news that needs to be shared via Twitter.
• Share websites. Both instructors and students can post/share their  websites that are relevant to school purposes

Go to Twitter.com homepage and simply click signup on the right top, fill up the simple form given out by twitter and click 'New Twitter' . You can start using immediately after you finished up the signing up process.

IT Presentation 6/9/2012

Did a presentation on my blog to introduce my blog to my classmates last thursday , 6th September 2012. The presentation was to tell them on what i have done to my blog, what features i have added to it and how they can my follow my updates in the near future. I have yet to add more features to my blog as it lacks creativity at the moment.
It is rumored that we (Marine engineering course ) will use the new building by this week. Most of the the marine engineering's instructor already moved all their files,personal stuffs to the new building last saturday, 8th September 2012. Our group didnt have any classes in the morning as we were helping the instructors move some of their stuff to the new building. Lets just hope we'll start using the new building in two days time , Cant wait :D

 
 

On going assignment.

I got enrolled in Maktab Kejuteraan Jefri Bolkiah on the 24th july 2012, I got in a bit late because i was one of the waiting list candidate. Syukur alhamdulillah they accepted me this year...eventually.

The main purpose of this blog is for school, specifically IT application. On this first post, I am just going to talk about the blog, I decided to just use my old blog rather than making a new one. Since this blog is mainly for IT application assignment, I deleted all my old post since its not related to school.

This blog is one of the assignment given to us by our IT application's tutor, I guess studying IT Application has its benefits that will help us in the future. I was relieved when the tutor said we just have to update our blog once a week as i have difficulty in having access to internet connection for the mean time.
